The Shootout In LA

Usually in LA people tend to run away from shootouts, but this time everyone’s eyes were glued to the field as the football flew down the field as these two offenses clashed. Who would have thought that Jared goff would step back and launch the ball 68 times while they have Todd Gurley in the line up. Todd Gurley only had 5 carries for the entire game, but still managed to put 2 touchdowns on the stat lines. However, the numbers that Todd gurley put up before would give you the impression that Jared Goff would never have to pass this much in a game ever. Todd Gurley had 17 touchdowns and over 1,200 yards last year. Which makes it seem like Todd Gurley is the bell cow and will handle most of the offense. Something similar to what Ezekiel Elliot does in the cowboy stadium, but this time it was Different.

This huge battle happened out of no where and happened with the least likely quarterbacks! Who knew the Interception King would win in a shoot out with the rams quarterback and their defense. The score ended 55-40 with Jameis Winston throwing 385 yards and 4 touchdown on 41 attempts. However, Jameis threw one costly pick 6, but it was okay due because the buccs defense actually stepped up to score for themselves. I am surprised by the the Tampa bay buccaneers this week as they seemed like they were going to tank the season early yet again, but they just won’t go down. The buccaneers are currently sitting at 2-2 for the season, but defeating a giant in the NFL like the Rams is a huge step in the right direction psychologically and for the teams chances of making a playoff push.

Another key point to the game that most people aren’t talking about yet is that Jameis Winston has potentially saved his job off of this one game. It was questioned that Jameis might be replaced by the end of the year due to the lack of production, but if Jameis can put up these stats in multiple games, then I can see him getting a nice contract for a lengthy stay in Tampa.

Let me know what you think! Was this a display for the future for Jameis? or was it a lucky game!?
