Howie Roseman is the Brother to Love

NFL

Credit: Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Howie Roseman is the General Manager of the Eagles organization. Currently the Eagles sit at the top of the NFL with a record of 7-0 in a professional league that has a lot of competition. This team, led by Jalen Hurts, has taken over the league by making themselves a run heavy offense, but molding Jalen Hurts to a better decision maker and precision passer. Jalen Hurts did not have a lack luster season last year, but the season was not as desireable as a fan would want from their quarterback. Jalen Hurt’s passer rating was a mere 77.6, and really didn’t see the field well. Currently, as the eagles are averaging 28 points per game, Jalen Hurt’s passer rating is currently at 107.8.

So, what does Howie Roseman have to do with the success of the Eagle’s starting quarterback? Well since Howie signed his own contract extension, he has put together a great team of wide receivers to catch the football and a powerful offensive line to protect the future quarterback. The beast of AJ Brown has been unleashed after rescuing him from Tennessee and the offensive line has been improved after draft as we are aging.

Howie Roseman with the clap BACK

However, the biggest question that needs to be answered is the salary we will have to pay for Jalen Hurts after this season! Jalen Hurts is looking like Russel Wilson throughout his early years with the Seahawks. The beautiful passing display has made it difficult for the Eagles to deny Hurts of a long term contract, but with the rising QB salaries being the standard, it’s hard to tell the future of the Eagles players because of all the talent.

To be honest, I can’t see the Eagles having as a productive season in the future as they are now if Jalen doesn’t let some salary cap money stay on the table, but that is all up to Howie Roseman and Jalen Hurts. Due to salary cap reasons, we won’t be able to keep such a high powered talented defense if Jalen gets a big payday and we will have to rely on draft picks to propel us forward against very talented teams. Jalen Hurts is a great quarterback, but a team can not be propelled forward by one man as you can see with Aaron Rodgers.

Tonight should be a great game for Seattle and a test of their team as a whole as they face the Rams potent, yet balanced team. Russell Wilson will have to do quite a bit of running around as Aaron Donald is certain to break through that offensive line tonight. Chris Carson will have to make a huge impact in the run game for the Seahawks to get moving down field early or else the game will rest on Russ to win. The seattle Defense hasn’t been the greatest as their still somewhat young and inexperienced as a defensive team. I can see them getting it together because what they lose in experience, they make up in aggression and talent.

Currently Cooper Kupp sits as the leading reciever for the Rams offense. He doesn’t seem to be able to get locked down on the field, which is remarkable after coming off of a fresh ACL tear. Cooper Kupp racked up 3 touchdowns and 388 yards. After tonights game, he should be up to 450 yards atleast and a touchdown. The corners in seattle are definitely not like the corners thye used to have when they were titled “The Legion Of Boom” Richard Sherman and Brandon Brown used to shut down wide outs with their big frame and swift feet. However, the corners currently are fairly new and not as dominate as previous corner backs. Brandon Cooks and Cooper Kupp should have a good day as I believe that Brandon Wagner will keep Todd Gurley under 100 yards tonight.

Place your bets on the Rams: 28-17

NFL Power Ranking

Your team might be better than what NFL analyst are giving them credit for so far.

#1 Patriots– They are still dominant, but seems like they have lost their luster a bit as they hit a tougher portion of the season.
#2 Chiefs– That offense is nearly invincible, but that defense has just been a little better than last year. Basically went from Swiss cheese to American thinly sliced cheese.
#3 Saints– Once Drew Brees comes back a lot more teams are in trouble. They managed to defeat the cowboys, but Drew can make the offense look unbeatable.
#4 Bears– The Bears defense look like the classic defense from back in the day where they absolutle terrorized offenses each game. However, that offense is awful as it’s led by Mitchell Trubisky at quarterback.
#5 Cowboys– After watching Dak prescott fail to take advantage of a second string quarterback from the Saints is one of the reasons why they’re sitting at #5 on the list. Ezekial Elliot couldn’t even get going due to the lack of production by Dak Prescott. However, the team’s defense is still good and the running back can nearly win a game by himself.

#6 Eagles– I believe the Eagles have gotten a back on track a little bit as they have gotten Alshon Jeffery back and taken down the Packers at home. The team is similar to the chiefs, but the secondary is just awful, which brings the Eagles to #6
#7Rams– The rams are most likely the most balanced team on this list because their offense seems to be just as strong as their defense. When it comes to winning, the team needs to win as a team or else they end up losing by a small margin because they individually rely on talent alone.
#8 Packers– Arron Rodgers is still a bad man as he slings the football all over the field to multiple receivers, but his main receiver has sustained a pretty serious injury that hinders his route running.
#9 Seahwaks– Pete carroll is so focused on the run that it sets up Russell Wilson for some good play action passes over the top. They can be a great team if the defense can get it together. I see them moving up during the season.
#10 49ners– The 9ners defense has stepped up and show has the offensive line somewhat, but in order for the 9ners to continue this streak, Jimmy garrapolo has to play better or I predict that the Chargers will sneak up and take the #10 spot since they have Melin Gordon back.

Nearly Blacked Out On The Field

I don’t think this is what odell had in mind when he was called a choke artist for his team by a few giants fans. Odell ended his last game with 2 receptions, 20 yards, one win, and one near death experience as he was being strangled by another player on the Field! Odell has a history of playing very emotionally and playing dirty. He nearly took Josh Norman’s head off by sprinting into him head first while Josh Norman was unaware of his presence on the field. Now Odell is throwing punches at players when he is being locked down on the field. Next to Antonio Brown, Odell has to be the biggest diva/baby I have ever seen on sports television. Odell is similar to a kid that throw temper tantrums when he is told no when he wants a new video game. He will cry, pout, fight, and claw at you until he gets what he wants. In this case, Odell just wants a good game but defenders are denying that almost every week. Unfortunately, for Odell there are consequences to your actions and he learned that immediately at the game against the Ravens.

Odell through a few punches at the defender Marlon yesterday during the Baltimore Ravens versus Clevland Browns game, which was answered back with a strong choke hold. Odell attempted to put up a bit of a fight, but he looked to be over powered by Marlon as it looked like he wasn’t going to take the grips off of odell at all. Luckily for Odell, his team came to his rescue. Yet, the imaery of odell isn’t even the best part! The Brown’s coach, Freddie Kitchens, is mad at the league for not throwing Marlon Humphrey out of the game after defending himself. I don’t think the league can ignore Odell throwing punches to reprimand Marlon Humphrey. If anything, Odell should’ve been suspended for throwing punches. He is already on thin ice for wearing something illegal on the field. I think the NFL is biased towards certain players, but this is getting to be a bit much.

After the game, Marlon told reporters that he apologized to Odell and that everything was in the heat of the moment. While Odell had a bunch of reporters interview him regarding the incident to which Odell said that it’s an emotional sport, but he is more worried about his earring that he lost at the moment.

As you can see, one player has more character than the other, but I do believed that the league needs to do something about these out of hand receivers.

Let me know in the comments what you think about the incident and the wide receivers of the NFL.

The Shootout In LA

Usually in LA people tend to run away from shootouts, but this time everyone’s eyes were glued to the field as the football flew down the field as these two offenses clashed. Who would have thought that Jared goff would step back and launch the ball 68 times while they have Todd Gurley in the line up. Todd Gurley only had 5 carries for the entire game, but still managed to put 2 touchdowns on the stat lines. However, the numbers that Todd gurley put up before would give you the impression that Jared Goff would never have to pass this much in a game ever. Todd Gurley had 17 touchdowns and over 1,200 yards last year. Which makes it seem like Todd Gurley is the bell cow and will handle most of the offense. Something similar to what Ezekiel Elliot does in the cowboy stadium, but this time it was Different.

This huge battle happened out of no where and happened with the least likely quarterbacks! Who knew the Interception King would win in a shoot out with the rams quarterback and their defense. The score ended 55-40 with Jameis Winston throwing 385 yards and 4 touchdown on 41 attempts. However, Jameis threw one costly pick 6, but it was okay due because the buccs defense actually stepped up to score for themselves. I am surprised by the the Tampa bay buccaneers this week as they seemed like they were going to tank the season early yet again, but they just won’t go down. The buccaneers are currently sitting at 2-2 for the season, but defeating a giant in the NFL like the Rams is a huge step in the right direction psychologically and for the teams chances of making a playoff push.

Another key point to the game that most people aren’t talking about yet is that Jameis Winston has potentially saved his job off of this one game. It was questioned that Jameis might be replaced by the end of the year due to the lack of production, but if Jameis can put up these stats in multiple games, then I can see him getting a nice contract for a lengthy stay in Tampa.

Let me know what you think! Was this a display for the future for Jameis? or was it a lucky game!?

2 Running Back Combination

As Predicted, the running backs for the eagles had to put in extra effort in order to win the game. The numbers that Carson had to put up for the Thursday night game was excellent. Due to him having a little help from his running backs, Carson put up 160 yards and 3 touchdowns. This ultimately accumulated a passer rating of 113 for the night against a talented Green bay Defense. Alshon Jefffrey contributed to the win against the packers, but it was really the running backs that seemed to handle much of the heavy lifting for the game.

Coach Doug Pederson seemed to have focused on a very leveled offensive game between running the ball and passing this game, which seems to have been working as the offensive line made some big holes for the running backs to speed their way for big gains. Miles sanders ran for 72 yards on 11 attempts, while Jordan Howard ran for 82 yards on 15 rushing attempts with 2 touch downs. This is excluding the long kick return by Miles that set them up in great field position to score a touchdown. Both running backs seemed to have set each other up for success by getting rest while the other had taken the field. This combination of a bruiser back wearing down a defense and an elusive sprinter to rack up the yards could be what the team was missing as they look forward to the playoffs.

Make Or Break Time For Philly

Before We talk about Philly I would like to take the chance to say this! I am calling it now. The old Dak Prescott will be back this week after facing the redskins. The redskins are a step up from the regular easy beginning schedule, I’m predicting a run heavy cowboys this week with the offensive line dumping the Redskins in the dirt. I wouldn’t recommend Dak being picked up for the season. It could be me being biased, but history does tend to repeat itself.

Philadelphia Eagles have been struggling for the first part of the season and have been trending downward because of the crazy spread of injuries on the team. It has been a huge blow to the team especially since the defense has shown a lack luster performance each week. The once defensive line bulls that were on the eagles are looking like kittens and the defensive secondary have been getting beat like they were caught stealing from the store. However, this can all change by beating the 3-0 Packers on Thursday night. Morale should sky rocket and this will continue to show the NFL that the Eagles will not fold due to their record.

Here is what they need to do to win

The Goal for the Eagles should be to stop Aaron Rodgers. It is a tall task to complete as the secondary for the Eagles have always been struggling against nearly every team in the NFL, but it could be completed if the defensive line has a big day tonight. Rodgers isn’t really known for throwing interceptions and his accuracy is usually always on point. However, when Aaron Rodgers is pressured, he can be inaccurate and forced to think more before he throws. Ultimately, the Eagles can force punts and when the game with their offense. On the offense of the Eagles the question is what are they doing with their running backs? Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders proved they can run, but they haven’t been given too much opportunity. They need to produce and set up the play option for Carson, which will open up Ertz and Alshon that has recently come back into the line up from injury.

Eagles are in a lot of trouble if they lose this game tonight against the packers. Their schedule will not be getting any easier for them after they play the jets in the next game. Eagles will have to play a strong vikings squad and then the divisional rivals, which is the cowboys. The cowboys are looking good this year due to that offensive line so everyone will need to be on point for a win there. If the Eagles continues to play from behind like this throughout the season, the most they can look forward to is a wild card spot.

Can the eagles win tonight against a hot packers team? Comment and follow.

The 49ners are for real?

After only 3 weeks into the season, the 49ners have not lost a single game. Why is this important you may ask? Well, the 49ners have been struggling every year since they lost in the Superbowl to the Baltimore Ravens. For the 2016-2017 season, the 49ners had a record of 2-14. 2017-2018 season the 49ners went 6-10. 2019-2020 seems like their goal is set to at least be in the positive for the win column as they are sitting with a clean record. However, who is to blame for this perfect record so far? Usually when it comes to winning, the quarterback is the leading factor to winning the games. However, Jimmy Garrapolo’s production has been sub par as he currently stands at 5 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He isn’t very exciting nor does he really have a lot of unbelievable games as many people though he would after being Tom Brady’s Protege. Jimmy is pretty inconsistent as well and hasn’t really played against an elite defense so far, which would excuse the interceptions.

The defense for the 49ners has picked it up a notch to slow down opponents offenses, but injuries and a weaker schedule has assisted the defense with the appearance of being elite. So what could the 49ners be doing that is making them win more games unlike before? The always overlooked special teams unit has done a wonderful job for the 49ners. Robbie Gould is one of if not the best kicker in the NFL currently. He is deadly accurate and seems to be always trusted to kick the ball for 3 points anywhere on the field. So far as a kicker, Robbie Gould has more points than the starting 2 running backs on his team and Tight end combined. Robbie Gould seems like the MVP on the team in my opinion as he cleans up the mess that the offense creates at times.

So far, Robbie Gould has accumulated 28 points with his longest field goal being 47 yards away at a 75% field goal accuracy. Robbie Gould deserves for someone to wear his jersey in California because I really don’t see anyone on that team that deserves more attention than him. Jimmy got a huge contract, but hasn’t lived up to the money given to him. The running backs play hard, but the offensive line doesn’t get the push needed to make them look spectacular, George Kittle is a great tight end, but has jimmy throwing to him, and Marquise Goodwin might be as fast as Tyreek Hill in a straight line race, but again jimmy can’t seem to hit him more often. The way I see it, the 49ners were down for so long, there is only one way to go from here.

Tell me what you think about the 49ners success so far. You buying in?

3 Teams On The Rise Back

Photo taken by Mitchell Leff of Getty Images

Sad about your team being 0-3 or 1-2 currently? No worries, there are some illusions that your team isn’t good this year and here are a few.

#1- Philadelphia Eagles- (1-2)

The Eagles unfortunately got punched in the mouth in every single first half this year. The first game of the year, the redskins did not come toy with the Eagles after they put up 20 points in the first half to which the Eagles had to come from behind and win in a final score of 32-27. However, after that game, the team was plagued by injuries, but has still played very competitive games against the lions and the falcons. Carson Wentz has played well as he usually does, but he needs help from his line and needs his starting wide receivers to be healthy. The Eagles secondary looks to be very bad, but as they did in previous years because they are still young, but the Eagles should make a comeback this year sometime in the mid season. Most likely the Eagles will make the playoffs or hit at least the wild card.

#2 Chargers (1-2)

The Chargers have been doing well and usually do well each year(until the playoffs), but they sit at 1-2 currently. Their games have been decided by less than 10 points for each loss so far. The Chargers play hard each game, but usually fall during the fourth. Kenan Allen has done some good work, but Mike Williams and Travis Benjamin needs to step up as neither of them have any touchdowns after 3 games. If Mike and Travis can have a little more production, then the chargers will do fine throughout the regular season. The running back situation isn’t helping either as Melvin Gordon has decided to sit out for the season until he gets a big pay day.

#3 Panthers

The panthers are struggling a bit this year with Cam Newton injuries. His shoulder isn’t what it used to be and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. However, the team does have a lot of talent that has shown both on offense and defense throughout the last 3 games. Christian Mcaffery doesn’t seem like he can be stopped at times and the way the NFC south is looking currently, it’s still up for grabs. If Cam can get healthy again and improve his accuracy, then we may see a the panthers leading the division while Drew Brees is out for quite some time.

Antonio Brown XFL?

Vince McMahon is one of the most successful and famous people out there in the world right now! Currently Vince Mcmahon’s net worth is about 3.2 BILLION dollars due in large part to his ownership of the now WWE. His success comes from being quite he corporate genius and his knowledge in attracting and retaining a large fan base. So what does Vince have to do with Football one might ask? Vince’s business ventures does not stop only at wrestling. He once ran an American Football League known as the XFL. Vince had the great idea to have a football organization available to everyone while the NFL season is over. It was an unbelievable idea and quite the daring assignment to commit to during the NFL off season. The XFL was supposed to be the greatest competition that the NFL has yet to face. However, the original XFL only lasted one season unfortunately, because of quite a couple of factors.

Vince Attempted to eliminate defensive penalties:

Vince and quite a few other people thought that the league was getting soft at the time of the XFL birth. Vince attempted to make the game as violent and entertaining as possible like his other successful business, by nearly eliminating defensive penalties. Eliminating the defensive penalties really lead to very low scoring games, which was terrible because their wasn’t much talent in the league in the beginning. The only player that anyone knew of in the league was Rod Smart AKA “He hate me.” The low scoring and quite the number of punts were staggering.

Downward Spiral of Viewers:

The XFL was tremendously popular for the first game! It was amazing to see a competing league against the NFL. Everything that the NFL was missing was supposed to be in the XFL. The views went up to a high of 58 Milliion viewers during the first XFL game to a mere 2 million on the last game of the season. It left such a terrible impact on the league and the NBC channel itself that ultimately, the league was shutdown.

It’s back and Antonio might make a huge impact

However, the league is back for a second run at being the NFL’s top competitor. This time could be different as one has to learn from their prior mistakes. The talent is out there this year for the XFL to be successful and the personalities that come with the players can be just as entertaining. Such people as Antonio Brown could possibly make an appearance in the XFL and continue with his antics. There is the possibility for big money in the league and Antonio Brown already stated that he will not be coming back to the NFL( as if he had a choice.), but if he went to the XFL he would stand the chance of creating a new era. A fresh start for Antonio Brown with the possibility of gaining the money he yearned for at the beginning of the season. Antonio Brown would also be the best receiver in that league and the attraction for any team as he always wanted. I just can’t see the XFL saying no to Antonio Brown or them not reaching out to him if the league wishes to be successful for the first season. Antonio might just send the XFL soaring or possibly crashing like the AAF. Antonio Brown also has a huge connection with other players and fan bases even after his antics. Which I think is a risk that Vince would have to take if he plans on bringing talent to the league.

The league is supposed to start in 2020 and just like the first time it was introduced, I will be tuning in to see how it stands out from the previous league.
