Antonio Brown XFL?

Vince McMahon is one of the most successful and famous people out there in the world right now! Currently Vince Mcmahon’s net worth is about 3.2 BILLION dollars due in large part to his ownership of the now WWE. His success comes from being quite he corporate genius and his knowledge in attracting and retaining a large fan base. So what does Vince have to do with Football one might ask? Vince’s business ventures does not stop only at wrestling. He once ran an American Football League known as the XFL. Vince had the great idea to have a football organization available to everyone while the NFL season is over. It was an unbelievable idea and quite the daring assignment to commit to during the NFL off season. The XFL was supposed to be the greatest competition that the NFL has yet to face. However, the original XFL only lasted one season unfortunately, because of quite a couple of factors.

Vince Attempted to eliminate defensive penalties:

Vince and quite a few other people thought that the league was getting soft at the time of the XFL birth. Vince attempted to make the game as violent and entertaining as possible like his other successful business, by nearly eliminating defensive penalties. Eliminating the defensive penalties really lead to very low scoring games, which was terrible because their wasn’t much talent in the league in the beginning. The only player that anyone knew of in the league was Rod Smart AKA “He hate me.” The low scoring and quite the number of punts were staggering.

Downward Spiral of Viewers:

The XFL was tremendously popular for the first game! It was amazing to see a competing league against the NFL. Everything that the NFL was missing was supposed to be in the XFL. The views went up to a high of 58 Milliion viewers during the first XFL game to a mere 2 million on the last game of the season. It left such a terrible impact on the league and the NBC channel itself that ultimately, the league was shutdown.

It’s back and Antonio might make a huge impact

However, the league is back for a second run at being the NFL’s top competitor. This time could be different as one has to learn from their prior mistakes. The talent is out there this year for the XFL to be successful and the personalities that come with the players can be just as entertaining. Such people as Antonio Brown could possibly make an appearance in the XFL and continue with his antics. There is the possibility for big money in the league and Antonio Brown already stated that he will not be coming back to the NFL( as if he had a choice.), but if he went to the XFL he would stand the chance of creating a new era. A fresh start for Antonio Brown with the possibility of gaining the money he yearned for at the beginning of the season. Antonio Brown would also be the best receiver in that league and the attraction for any team as he always wanted. I just can’t see the XFL saying no to Antonio Brown or them not reaching out to him if the league wishes to be successful for the first season. Antonio might just send the XFL soaring or possibly crashing like the AAF. Antonio Brown also has a huge connection with other players and fan bases even after his antics. Which I think is a risk that Vince would have to take if he plans on bringing talent to the league.

The league is supposed to start in 2020 and just like the first time it was introduced, I will be tuning in to see how it stands out from the previous league.
